Ffxiv redownload corrupted file without downloading the whole game?

I haven't done a fresh install in years haha. Completely agree. Like Lenneth here, I had to create a copy of the game that I update from time to time as a backup, but this shouldn't be necessary.

And I'm not sorry about that.

Basically your only recourse if you think your files are messed up is to delete them out of the system folder and let the launcher download the entire game again. If you had a file checker it would just find the files that were corrupted and redownload them, saving a ton of time since most of your other files are just fine.

Pls SE. It's I was just thinking it was odd that there wasn't one when I recently had a drive corruption. Install Steam. Store Page. Hey guys, I've kind of run into a bit of a weird problem. A couple days ago when I went to launch the game, Steam didn't detect it as installed, despite me obviously not uninstalling the game the last time I logged off.

I 'installed' it, opened up the launcher and it started immediately downloading 37GB of data. Not wanting to take up any extra storage, I ended up just uninstalling the game properly and reinstalling.

It was fine yesterday but today the exact same thing happened. Has this happened to anybody on here recently? Showing 1 - 11 of 11 comments. I never uninstalled it so I'm pretty sure we're experiencing the same issue. Last edited by Militant Dove ; 18 Feb am. I can only speak about the PC version. You can't move it or vitrify it. If you touch the install in any way it wants to reinstall. You can't even pause it. I closed it when downloading because it was time for bed.

I resumed the next day but when it had finished it's download I found that the install was corrupt. Last edited by WetNose ; 16 Feb pm. Has anyone else encountered this or does anyone know of a fix for this? You might want to check the main steam discussions, this is a Steam issue and can affect any Steam game. It's just more of a pain for games that update through a separate launcher.
